Specialty of Rajab - by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani


                                                             


This month Rajabun Shahrullah, is a holy month. Allah (swt) honored

the Muslim nation with this month by saying to Prophet Muhammad (saws)

and Sayyidina Muhammad saying to us "Rajabun Shahrullah." Rajab is the

month of Allah means that it is the month that no one knows what Allah

(swt) opened for His servants opened, for His creation. In this month

it is an honor and favor for His creation which no one knows.

                                                                                                             

This month as Grandshaykh Mawlana Abdallah ad- Daghestani, said (may

Allah sanctify his soul and bless his soul) and as Mawlana Shaykh

Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani related that Allah (swt) does not allow the

Pen to write in this month except with Yad al-Qudrah, the Hand of

Power. Allah takes the `amal of His servants. This means that `amal is

not rewarded by "fa man y`amal mithqal dharratin khayran yarah/ wa man

y`amal mithqal dharrtin sharran yarah" - "whoever does an atom of good

will see it and whoever does an atom of bad will see it."

In this month whoever does something of goodness it is directly taken

by Qalam al-Qudrah the Pen of Power, the pen that has not been given

to angels. It is a heavenly pen beyond the level of angels. That pen

which Allah ordered to write before creation la ilaha illa Allah.

                                                                                                        

As it is mentioned in the athar that the pen wrote trembling la ilaha

illa Allah for seventy thousand years. Then Allah said write
Muhammadun Rasulullah and the pen said "Who is Muhammad that you put

his name with Your name?" and Allah said "O Pen, if not for Muhammad

(saws) I would never have created anything - law la Muhammad ma

khalaqtu ahadan min khalqee."

That pen is in the Divine Presence and has not been given to angels.

That pen will be given to Prophet Muhammad (saws) in the Judgment Day.

That pen in the month of Rajab writes the `amal of human beings. So

any smallest good `amal is rewarded so much that it cannot be weighed

or put in a balance. It is rewarded from a hidden treasure that has

never been opened before.

For any `amal that is done in this month Allah opens for the Ummah

something that has never been opened before which will increase in

ma'arij. That month Allah gives ma'arij ascensions to human beings

with their `amal. Anyone who does something will have a mi`raj and

that mi`raj will raise him to a level that even if he does the best

`amal all year round he will not get rewards as he gets for the

smallest `amal in this month. That is the lowest meaning of Rajabun

Shahrullah. Allah has opened this to humanity. In every year Awliya

wait for this month. Awliya wait to make seclusion in this month

because it is the month where treasures and fountains of knowledge

will be opened to the heart of Awliya through their seclusions.



That is why seclusion has to begin in this month. If anyone wants to

do seclusion - it is not in Ramadan-- in Ramadan there is 'itikaf.

Seclusion has to begin with Rajabun Shahrullah. Awliya wait for this

month because this month the `amal will multiply tatada'afu fihi

al-'amaal. `amal in this month will be in multiplication like an

atomic reaction. What Allah gives is multiplied, but no one can even

imagine what Allah gives because it is the Pen of Qudrah which is in

the presence of Allah (swt) always in its place waiting for an order.

That pen will be given to Sayyidna Muhammad (s).

In Rajab, Allah ordered the pen to write `amal for human beings. It is

not for any malakun muqarrab, any angel, to write. That is why Allah

said to Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) to us "Rajabun Shahrullah wa

Shabanu Shahri- and Shaban is my month." This means that whatever is

related to Prophet (saws) from `amal will be written by the pen of the

Prophet (s). There is a Prophetic pen and there is a Qudrah pen. Allah

gave Prophet a pen in dunya and everything praising salawat on the

Prophet will be written by the Prophet (saws). Allah gave him that

power to write for his Ummah and it will be added and recorded.



Angels have no authority laysa andahum salahiyyat. Angels are assigned

to write but they are not assigned to reward. Allah rewards and Allah

gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) authority to reward also. That is why

Allah said Rajabun Shahrullah 'I reward My servant in this month' and

the Prophet (s) said wa Shabanu shahree. He did not say "wa Shabanu

shahr ar-rasul." He said "wa Shabanu shahree" means it is balancing

Rajabun shahrullah. 'What Allah gave me is for my Ummah, so what I am

rewarding is for the benefit of the Ummah.' What Allah rewards in

Rajab is for the benefit of the Ummah and Allah rewards in Rajab

without account.



Usually Allah rewards one hasana with ten. When Allah rewards without

hisab (account) no one knows. It is beyond the level of understanding

and beyond the level of account, meezaan (balance, scale). What the

Prophet (s) gives is beyond the level of counting, because when

Prophet gives he doesn't give from his level of dunya but he gives

from the level that he is in ma`arij. Do you think the Prophet (s)

made only one mi`raj? In the Night of Ascension when the Prophet (s)

was lifted up, do you think the Prophet was lifted up and then came

back and it is stopped and finished? He is in continuous ma`arij.

When Allah gives something He doesn't hold it. He doesn't say this is

for you finished you come then go back to your place- no. Allah is

keeping from that day 1400 years ago when the Prophet (s) was in

Mi`raj on Laylat al Israa'i wal Mi`raj he is still in Mi`raj to the

Divine Presence.



So what do you think the Prophet (s) is giving? Is he giving you from

the reward of 1400 years ago or is he giving you from the level that

he gives now? And Prophet said Allah is raising me mithlaini mithlain

in the higher levels double, double, double, double multiplied by

itself. In every moment it becomes doubled then it becomes quadrupled

etc like that. So from 1,400 years until now how much is the Prophet

in ma`arij going! Anyone making praising now the Prophet (s) gives him

from his level now from those anwaar (lights) that the Prophet (s) is

dipped into the Divine Presence. He is dressed with all of these

tajalli of that no one can describe. Allah is dressing His Habib

mithlaini mithlaini. In every second the tajalli is doubled and

doubled. Every moment Allah is dressing him with light and secrets

making him in the ocean of Names and Attributes. He is swimming in

bahr al asmai wal sifat.

What Allah (swt) gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) cannot be written. It is

in the heart of awliya but they cannot even express it. That is why

Sayyidina Abu Huraira said hafiztu an Rasulillah wi'a ain - "I have

memorized two knowledges from the Prophet. One of them I told people;

the other one if I say it they will cut my neck."



Some scholars say this refers to the signs of the Last Days. This is

not true. It refers to the secrets of the level of the Prophet (s) and

what Allah gave to this Ummah. This Ummah is Ummah marhuma (given

mercy) Ummah maghfura (forgiven). They have been forgiven for the sake

of Muhammad (s).

So rajabun shahrullah shabanu shahri. 'That is my property which you

are entering,' the Prophet is saying. Shabanu shahri. He didn't say

Shabanu shahr al-Nabi or shahr rasulullah. It is emphasizing the

Prophet's ownership. Shahree means 'It is mine. You are entering my

property.' When you stand up and say as-salaamu `alayka ya Rasullallah

in shahr sha`ban you are entering the property of Muhammad (s). Can

one who enters the property of Muhammad go to hell? No, finished.

Allah will forgive him for the baraka of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

Don't imagine that if you enter one foot into Paradise you can be

thrown into hell, because each Paradise is alive. What is related to

akhira is alive. Paradise is always alive with life in it. When you

enter something with life in it, Allah will not throw you back to

hell. So when you put your feet into the property of Sayyidina

Muhammad (s) and enter to his presence by salawat, who can take you

away? Finished. The Prophet (s) is going to say, 'Ya Rabbee, ya Allah

- this is my Ummah. This is Your servant, Your `abd. He believed in

me, he entered my property; my paradise." What is Allah going to say?

"Take him! I gave you shafa`a. Why did I give you shafa`a? Take him to

wherever you want to. Put him with you."

Then the Prophet (s) has his own paradise for all of the Ummah that

believed in him, praised him, loved him, felt his presence at every

moment, and called upon him. They are going to be rewarded. They are

going to be fi maq`adi sidqin 'aind maleekin muqtadir.



Those who believed in the Prophet and believed in Allah but did not

feel his presence - did not call him - will also be in Paradise but

they will be veiled from Prophet Muhammad (s).

When you enter into the river or ocean of this knowledge that

knowledge makes you drunk. You cannot think anymore. It is beyond

minds. Then Ramadan comes wa ramadanu shahru ummati. It means that

after Allah dipped them in His buhur ul qudra in the Oceans of Power

in the Oceans of Beauty He dressed them with these lights and

manifestations of His asmaa' and sifat - Names and Attributes. Then He

sent them to the Beloved One to dress them from his oceans. Then with

these two dressings that have been dressed in rajabun shahrullah and

in sha`banu shahri the Ummah is moved to Ramadan to be rewarded by

fasting, thanking Allah (swt) for what He has given them in shahr

rajab and what the Prophet gave them in shahr Sha`ban. Allah rewards

them. They will be dressed with these dressings in shahr ramadan and

they will be presented to angels.



Those that are keeping the adab of shahr rajab and shahr sha`ban they

are a special part of the Ummah. Not all of the Ummah is doing that.

To these special people who are keeping the adab of Rajab and Sha`ban

and coming to Ramadan the angels will be surprised what these people

are. Who are these people? What kind of tajalli are they dressed with?

The angels feel shy to write anything for them because whatever they

are going to write for them in Ramadan these people are dressed with

lights which have never been opened before; because of the tajalli of

the Prophet (s) and the ma'arij Angels will be surprised and standing

hayara confused not knowing what to do. That is why Allah (swt) said

the last ten days of Ramadan is atqun min al-nar - .
